The competition is free and open to anyone in the world. Established, emerging and amateur photographers of any age group and background are welcome to participate. Perspectives from minoritized groups are encouraged.

The winners and runner-ups of each category will be displayed on RECLAIM’s webpage and exhibited at the International Conference on GBGI in London on 23th May 2024.  

A jury of experts will determine the winners of the competition by taking into consideration the following criteria: 

• How well does the photograph portray the GBI? 

• Does it describe information about the context where the GBI is located?

• Does it offer an alternative vision or reflection on ‘nature’?

• How does it bring the natural, human, and infrastructural together?

• Is the photograph representing a forgotten city or town?
