There are only a few rules for submitting your photos to participate in the competition.
1. Upload your picture/s to Wikimedia Commons by 26 April 2024, 7:59 AM GMT, including the following categories:
• 'RECLAIM Network'
• 'GBI name' e.g. 'Playground' (see list here)Check this video tutorial for detailed instructions for uploading your images.2. Fill in the form to identify you, should you be one of the winners. This data will be destroyed on 1 September 2024.
Every submitted picture should:
• Depict an urban GBI from this list, which needs to be identifiable.
• All submissions should be self-taken and self-uploaded to the platform.
• Each photograph should be submitted with the file information, including a title and location in the following format:
SimpleCaption_LocationName (eg.ExploringTheForest_CardiffWales)• Relevant categories should be added to the files to enable other Commons users to find and use them. In addition to the categories: ‘RECLAIM Network’ and ‘GBI name’ through the existing Wikimedia subcategory from this list that most accurately describes your image (eg. ‘Hyde Park, London’ instead of ‘Park’).
• There is no limit to the number of submissions by each participant, just select your best photographs.
Next to that, there are a few
practical rules:
• Before participating in the competition, please create a Wikimedia account which is necessary to make the uploads.
• It is recommended that images contain at least 2 real megapixels of information. You can find more information regarding image guidelines on Commons by referring to these image guidelines.
• If the photo gets deleted for any reason, it will be automatically disqualified from the competition.
• You are responsible for following local laws and considering cultural and religious sensitivities around the element you will capture.
• No AI-generated images will be accepted. Please take care not to violate copyright in respect of non-free creative works, and observe our educational project scope and the personality rights of identifiable people, or your files may be subject to deletion.
• During the upload process, you give permission with a CC BY-SA license to re-use the image.
